Associate Dentist – Assisted Hygiene

Petaluma Valley Dental is seeking a motivated and personable Associate Dentist to join our team in a unique, hygiene-focused position.

This role is ideal for a dentist who enjoys preventive care, patient education, periodontal health, and building strong relationships with patients. The position is structured around an assisted dental hygiene model, allowing you to work efficiently while still providing attentive, high-quality patient care.

Position Overview

As our Associate Dentist, your primary focus will be providing dental hygiene services and completing examinations in a supported environment. You will work alongside a dedicated dental assistant who will help with room turnover, X-rays, charting, setup, and other clinical support.

With the assisted hygiene model, you may see up to 16 patients per day, with your assistant helping keep the schedule organized and running efficiently.

Compensation

$100 per hour

Responsibilities

• Provide preventive dental hygiene care
• Perform comprehensive periodontal assessments
• Complete prophylaxis and periodontal maintenance appointments
• Diagnose and treatment plan periodontal and restorative needs
• Perform patient examinations
• Review and interpret dental X-rays
• Educate patients regarding oral health and recommended treatment
• Work closely with your dedicated dental assistant to maintain an efficient patient flow
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation
• Provide a positive, comfortable experience for every patient

Qualifications

• Current California DDS or DMD license
• Current CPR certification
• Strong communication and patient-care skills
• Comfortable providing preventive and periodontal care
• Team-oriented and dependable
• Experience is preferred, but we are open to the right candidate
