Job board comparison
DentistryHires vs ADA CareerCenter
Pick the ADA CareerCenter if you are recruiting dentists or specialists through the ADA's job board, need a 365-day option, or want print/online ads in ADA News and JADA. Pick DentistryHires for hygienists, assistants and front-office roles at the cheaper entry price — $199 (launch pricing) versus $300 — on a dental-only board; the premium tiers are about even, and an ADA member's 10% discount puts ADA Premium slightly below $399 Featured.

What does each board offer a dental practice?
The ADA CareerCenter is the American Dental Association's official online job board.
It sells single listings in two tiers, priced by duration: Standard and Premium, from 30 days up to a full year.
Premium listings are highlighted in search results and appear more frequently in email alerts, and both tiers show your company logo on the listing.
Beyond the posted-price listings there is a quote-only Featured Employer program with unlimited postings and resume database access, and print/online combination advertising in ADA News and JADA.
DentistryHires is a dental-only board: every job, pay guide and licensing explainer on the site is about dentistry, across 15 roles from dentists and six specialties to hygienists, assistants and the front-office team.
Listings come from two places — openings collected from dental employers' career sites and public job feeds, and jobs practices post directly.
A Standard listing runs 30 days and is indexed in Google Jobs and shown on the matching role and city pages; a Featured listing adds the logo, a highlighted card, top-of-feed placement and a Featured badge.
One mechanical difference shapes everything else: on DentistryHires, candidates who click Apply go to the practice's own application, and the board never receives or processes applications.
The ADA CareerCenter's pricing page does not publish how applications are handled.
What does each cost to post a dental job?
On the ADA CareerCenter, a 30-day listing is $300 (Standard) or $400 (Premium).
Longer terms rise from there: $500–$600 for 60 days, $650–$750 for 90 days, and $2,500–$2,750 for 365 days.
ADA members receive 10% off the posted rates, and the discount code comes by email or phone.
The Featured Employer package and the print/online combinations in ADA News and JADA have no published price at all.
DentistryHires sells one duration: $199 for a Standard listing or $399 for Featured, each live for 30 days.
Both are launch prices (the regular prices are $299 and $499), and each listing is a one-time payment with no renewal and nothing to sign.
For groups, Growth is $899 a month for 10 always-live jobs and Brand is $1,749 a month for 25 Featured jobs, arranged by contact and cancel-anytime.
Full details are on the pricing page.
Side by side at 30 days, the entry tiers are $300 versus $199 and the top tiers are $400 versus $399: the cheaper entry post is DentistryHires, the premium tiers are essentially the same price, and an ADA member's 10% discount takes ADA Premium slightly below the $399 Featured price.
Only the ADA board sells longer terms.
If you want more options around the ADA CareerCenter rather than a one-on-one comparison, we keep a separate list of ADA CareerCenter alternatives.
What about contracts, cancellations and refunds?
DentistryHires: a single listing is a one-time payment — no renewal, no recurring charge, nothing to sign — and any purchase can be refunded in full within 48 hours.
After 48 hours a listing is not refundable and there is no partial refund for hiring early, though duplicate charges and charges made in error are always refunded.
A listing is published as soon as checkout finishes, and support edits or takes down a live job when you email the job title and the address you paid with.
The ADA CareerCenter sells fixed-duration listings — you choose 30, 60, 90 or 365 days at the posted price — and its pricing page publishes no refund or cancellation terms.
Its two contact-priced products, Featured Employer and the print/online ad packages, are quoted by contact, so their terms are whatever the quote sets out.
If published payment terms matter to you, that is a point for the side that publishes them; the fact sheet lists every DentistryHires pricing and refund claim with its source.
Association reach or a dental-only board — which fits the role you are hiring?
For dentist and specialist openings, the ADA CareerCenter is the better fit, plainly.
It is the American Dental Association's own job board, and the ADA says its CareerCenter Network markets openings on a national and local level — that network claim is the ADA's own marketing statement, so treat it as self-reported.
The print/online combination ads in ADA News and JADA are an extra channel the ADA board offers alongside the online listing.
For hygienists, dental assistants and front-office roles, the calculation can flip to price and focus.
Those are the roles a dental-only board is built around, and on DentistryHires a 30-day post is $199 at launch pricing, shown on the matching role and city pages — dental hygienist jobs, for example — and indexed in Google Jobs.
DentistryHires also collects openings from dental employers' career sites and public job feeds alongside the jobs practices post, and candidates who click Apply go to the practice's own application.
A practical middle path: the ADA board for the associate or specialist search, a flat-fee dental-only listing for the chairside and front-desk roles.
What results does each publish?
Neither side publishes hiring results on the pages checked for this comparison.
DentistryHires publishes no placement, application or hire figures — no results pages, no success metrics — and we are stating that plainly rather than filling the space with marketing numbers.
The ADA CareerCenter's pricing page lists prices and features, not outcomes, and the reach claim on its employer pages (a national-and-local CareerCenter Network) is self-reported marketing language rather than a published result.
If you weight the published claims themselves rather than measured results, the lean is toward the ADA: it publishes its association affiliation and a self-reported reach claim, where DentistryHires publishes nothing comparable.
Otherwise there is no published performance data from either side to break the tie — decide on what is actually published: price, listing duration, where the listing appears, how candidates apply and who stands behind the board — and treat any hiring promise from any job board, ours included, as a claim to be sceptical of.
DentistryHires' own terms say it is not an employer or a recruiting agency and does not guarantee that a listing will result in a hire.
Which one should you choose?
Choose the ADA CareerCenter if…
- You are recruiting dentists or specialists and want the American Dental Association's own job board behind the opening.
- You need a listing to run longer than 30 days — 60, 90 and 365-day terms are on the posted price list.
- You want print/online combination ads in ADA News and JADA alongside the online listing.
- You are an ADA member and the 10% discount takes ADA Premium slightly below DentistryHires' Featured price, or you want a Featured Employer package with resume database access and don't mind arranging it by contact.
Choose DentistryHires if…
- You are hiring hygienists, dental assistants or front-office staff and want the cheaper entry-level 30-day post: $199 Standard at launch pricing versus $300 on the ADA board. (The premium tiers are close, and an ADA member's discount takes ADA Premium slightly below our $399 Featured.)
- You want a one-time payment with nothing to sign, instant publishing and a full refund inside 48 hours.
- You want the listing on dental-only role and city pages and indexed in Google Jobs, with candidates applying on your practice's own application.
- You are a DSO or multi-office group that wants 10 or 25 always-live jobs at published monthly prices ($899 or $1,749) instead of a quote-only program.
