Pay: $25–$27/hour guaranteed + performance opportunity

Full-time | In person

The Role

Franklin Dental is hiring a Treatment Coordinator / Assistant Manager for our growing dental practice in Franklin Park, NJ, with occasional support for our Branchburg NJ office.

Dental experience is NOT required. We will teach you dentistry.

What we are looking for is harder to teach: confidence, judgment, professionalism, follow-through, and the ability to help a customer make a significant purchasing decision.

A major part of this position is presenting dental treatment to patients, explaining costs and financing options, answering questions, overcoming reasonable objections, following up, and helping patients move forward with treatment their dentist has recommended.

This is consultative sales in a healthcare environment. You are not diagnosing patients or deciding what treatment they need. The dentist does that. Your job is to make sure patients clearly understand the recommendation, their financial options, and the next step — and to confidently ask them to schedule.

We are particularly interested in experienced candidates coming from:

  • Corporate or multi-location retail management
  • Hospitality or hotel management
  • Banking or financial services
  • Automotive service or other high-ticket customer environments
  • Healthcare administration
  • Membership or account management
  • Customer success
  • Consultative or relationship-based sales
  • Assistant Manager / General Manager roles in professionally managed organizations

Experience selling inexpensive products at a register is not what we mean by sales experience. We are looking for someone accustomed to building trust, explaining meaningful purchases, following a process, and being accountable for results.

What You Will Do

You will learn the dental business while becoming one of the primary people responsible for helping patients move from diagnosis to scheduled treatment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Present treatment plans and financial options to patients in a confident, professional manner
  • Help patients understand the value and importance of completing recommended treatment
  • Discuss payment options and third-party financing
  • Ask patients for the appointment and work toward scheduling treatment before they leave
  • Follow up consistently with patients who have unscheduled treatment
  • Handle objections and concerns without being aggressive or pushy
  • Build trust with patients considering significant treatment
  • Track treatment presented, accepted, scheduled, and completed
  • Work toward defined conversion and follow-up goals
  • Follow Hudson Dental's scripts, pricing policies, discount policies, financing procedures, and escalation rules
  • Document patient communications accurately
  • Answer phones and help convert inquiries into appointments
  • Support scheduling and front-office operations
  • Resolve patient service issues professionally
  • Support the Office Manager with daily office operations
  • Learn dental terminology, insurance basics, and practice-management systems
  • Follow through on assignments without needing repeated reminders

The Person We Want

This position requires more maturity and judgment than a typical front-desk role.

The right person is comfortable sitting across from someone who has just been told they need several thousand dollars of dental work and saying:

"Let's figure out the best way to make this work for you."

You should be able to establish credibility quickly, listen carefully, explain options clearly, respond to concerns, and confidently ask for a decision.

At the same time, this is a structured organization. We do not want a rogue salesperson.

You must be comfortable:

  • Following established policies and scripts
  • Working within approved pricing and discount guidelines
  • Being coached
  • Having your results measured
  • Using CRM/practice-management systems consistently
  • Following management direction
  • Asking questions rather than improvising when something falls outside your authority

Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Strong presence and confidence speaking one-on-one with customers or patients
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Strong judgment and emotional intelligence
  • Comfortable discussing money and financing
  • Comfortable asking for a commitment or next step
  • Organized and highly reliable
  • Strong follow-through
  • Able to remain calm when a patient is upset or hesitant
  • Comfortable using computers, email, texting, and business software
  • Coachable and willing to work within established processes
  • Comfortable being accountable for measurable results
  • Prior leadership, management, consultative sales, account management, hospitality, healthcare, banking, or customer-service experience strongly preferred
  • 8+ years of progressive customer-facing professional experience strongly preferred
  • Experience in a structured, professionally managed or multi-location organization is a plus
  • Dental experience is helpful but not required

Why This Role Is Different

This is not a receptionist position.

It is a combination of patient experience, consultative sales, treatment coordination, and management development.

The starting pay is $25–$27/hour guaranteed, with opportunity for advancement based on performance.

For someone who succeeds, this can become a path toward:

Treatment Coordinator → Assistant Manager → General Manager

High-performing Office Managers within Hudson Dental can have significant earning potential as their responsibilities and results grow.
