Sterilization Technician/Part-Time Dental Assistant

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sterilization Technician/Part-Time Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. This role is vital in maintaining the highest standards of infection control, ensuring the sterilization of dental instruments, and supporting clinical operations to deliver exceptional patient care. Responsibilities

• Properly sterilize and process dental instruments using established infection prevention management protocols, including aseptic techniques.
• Assist dental professionals during patient procedures by providing chairside support, including handling dental instruments and materials efficiently.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation and manage patient records in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as TDO.
• Prepare treatment rooms by setting up necessary dental equipment, including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other clinical tools.
• Take dental X-ray images while adhering to HIPAA regulations and safety standards for medical imaging.
• Support patient management by explaining procedures using dental terminology, and ensuring patient comfort throughout visits.
• Follow strict infection control procedures aligned with healthcare infection prevention and control expertise to ensure clinical safety for patients and staff.

Skills

• Knowledge of dental sterilization procedures, infection prevention management, and aseptic techniques.
• Experience with dental equipment operation including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other clinical tools.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and oral surgery procedures relevant to dentistry.
• Ability to perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations concerning medical records and clinical confidentiality policies.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing medical documentation and sterilization logs.
