Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
• Conduct thorough patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to their needs
• Take and interpret X-rays while adhering to proper aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using Open Dental
• Review documentation for accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and dental terminology standards

Requirements

• Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice
• Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments with strong knowledge of dental assisting procedures
• Proficiency in Open Dental
• Knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques necessary for safe patient care
• Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and collaborate seamlessly with the dental team
• Commitment to ongoing professional development in areas such as pediatric dentistry, medical imaging, and infection prevention
