Registered Dental Hygienist

Duties

• Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup
• Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies tailored to their needs
• Assist with chairside procedures, including four-handed dentistry techniques, to ensure smooth workflow
• Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays while maintaining strict infection control standards
• Review and update medical records accurately in electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix
• Support pediatric dentistry cases with specialized techniques for young patients, ensuring comfort and safety

Skills

• Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for documentation and scheduling
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques
• Experience with medical coding, documentation review, and HIPAA compliance to protect patient privacy
• Ability to perform patient care tasks including vital signs measurement, medical imaging, and medical records management
• Skilled in chairside assisting with a focus on pediatric dentistry and general dentistry procedures
• Excellent communication skills to explain treatment plans clearly and empathetically to diverse patient populations
• Familiarity with EMR systems, dental assisting practices, and medical terminology for comprehensive patient assessment

Pay: $37.00 - $44.00 per hour
