Duties

• Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and dental charts to develop personalized care plans.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options to foster long-term dental health.
• Operate dental equipment such as X-ray machines, digital radiography systems (including Dental x-ray), and intraoral cameras with precision and adherence to safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, documenting all procedures, observations, and patient interactions clearly and thoroughly.
• Follow infection prevention management protocols by practicing aseptic techniques, sterilizing instruments, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
• Collaborate seamlessly with the dental team during four-handed dentistry procedures and chairside assisting to optimize workflow efficiency.

Qualifications

• Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current credentials.
• Proven experience in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings, demonstrating familiarity with pediatric dentistry procedures.
• Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding for accurate documentation and billing processes.
• Strong knowledge of dental equipment operation, infection control standards, and healthcare infection prevention practices.
• Experience with EMR/EHR management systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred.
• Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about dental care and treatment plans.
• Ability to review documentation thoroughly, maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines, and demonstrate attention to detail in all tasks.

Pay: $48.30 - $58.17 per hour

Expected hours: 8.0 – 16.0 per week
