Registered Dental Hygienist

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Hygienist to join our team 3.5 days/week. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a crucial role in providing quality dental care to our patients. Your primary responsibility will be to perform dental cleanings, provide oral hygiene instructions, and assist the dentist during procedures. Responsibilities:

- Perform dental cleanings and remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Conduct comprehensive oral exams and assess patients' oral health
- Take dental x-rays as needed
- Administer local anesthesia
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized recommendations for at-home care
- Document patient treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant information accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and sterile work environment
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in dental hygiene techniques and technologies

Requirements:

- Valid state dental hygiene license
- Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program
- Proficiency in performing aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
- Knowledge of dental assisting procedures and terminology
- Familiarity with EHR systems (such as Epic) for documentation purposes
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality guidelines
- Solid understanding of dental anatomy and oral health conditions
