Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
• Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current oral health status
• Take digital dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while adhering to infection prevention protocols
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records within Electronic Health Records (EHR) - Open Dental knowledge is a plus!
• Follow strict infection control procedures, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental instruments, in compliance with HIPAA regulations and healthcare standards

Requirements

• Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental hygiene procedures
• Proven experience in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings preferred
• Proficiency with EHR systems such as Open Dental for documentation review and management
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and dental equipment operation
• Excellent patient communication skills with the ability to educate pediatric age groups
• Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including HIPAA compliance and maintaining patient confidentiality
• Familiarity with dental coding related to dental procedures is a plus

Pay: $50.00 - $55.00 per hour
