Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote oral health.
• Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while maintaining safety protocols.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, including brushing, flossing, and dietary recommendations.
• Assist with chairside procedures such as preparing instruments, managing patient comfort, and supporting dentists during treatments.
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records within electronic health records (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
• Ensure strict adherence to infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment.

Requirements

• Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations.
• Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred.
• Proficiency with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and EHR management.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health.
• Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures safely while complying with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.
• Excellent communication skills for client education and team collaboration.
• Demonstrated understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including aseptic technique.
• Experience with dental assisting duties such as chairside assisting and patient care is highly desirable.

Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour
