Registered Dental Hygienist for Periodontal Practice

We are looking for an experienced Registered Dental Hygienist to help our patients achieve and maintain optimal oral health. As a high-quality, fee-for-service private periodontal specialty office, our patients are in need of a knowledgeable and caring clinician to not only meticulously perform scaling and root planing, periodontal maintenance, and prophylactic procedures, but also help advise them regarding their overall oral health and preventative care. As a Dental Hygienist, you should be professional, reliable, and able to build trust with patients of all ages.

This position is PART-TIME, 8-5 on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible during their treatment
• Work with team members to clean & set-up room, and sterilize dental instruments properly
• Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history
• Identify conditions like gingivitis, periodontitis, caries, occlusal wear, oral cancer screenings
• Perform oral hygiene procedures such as scaling and root planing, implant debridement, periodontal maintenance, or prophylaxis
• Educate patients on optimal oral home care techniques
• Take X-rays, extra-oral and intra-oral photos as needed
• Maintain documentation and charts on each patient
• Monitor supplies and work with team members for the overall daily operations of the practice
• Read scientific articles and attend lectures and webinars, to continue learning about new techniques, procedures, etc.

Skills

• Proven experience as Dental Hygienist
• In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. HIPAA, infection control, CPR certification, etc)
• Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment and instruments
• Outstanding communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job
• Diploma in Dental Hygiene
• Valid license to practice in the state of California

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $65.00 - $75.00 per hour
