Registered Dental Hygienist

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a clean and efficient clinical environment. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team. Experience with EMR systems, infection control protocols, and pediatric dentistry is highly valued. The Dental Hygienist will play a vital role in promoting oral health and ensuring patient comfort during visits.

Duties

• Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
• Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
• Assist with chairside procedures such as medical imaging, cavity detection, and applying fluoride treatments.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient records using Dentrix.
• Follow infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure a sterile environment.
• Review medical records for relevant health information and coordinate with the dental team for comprehensive patient care.
• Support pediatric dentistry procedures when necessary, ensuring a gentle approach for young patients.
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and privacy.
• Assist with general dentistry procedures as needed, including documentation review and medical coding.

Skills

• Proficiency in dental software such as Dentrix.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices.
• Experience with pediatrics, four-handed dentistry, and chairside assisting techniques.
• Ability to accurately measure vital signs and interpret medical imaging results.
• Excellent patient care skills with compassionate communication abilities.
• Familiarity with HIPAA compliance, medical coding, and medical terminology.
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection prevention protocols in a dental setting.
• Prior experience working in dental clinics or offices is preferred; familiarity with EMR systems is essential. Pay: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour
