Schedule: Full-Time

Monday - Friday (Alternate Saturdays).

Duties

• Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
• Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical history, and dental examinations to inform treatment plans.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to enhance their dental health.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and safety protocols are followed.
• Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using Dentrix / Dentrix Ascend, documenting all treatments and patient interactions clearly.
• Adhere strictly to infection prevention protocols, sterilizing equipment and maintaining aseptic techniques in compliance with healthcare regulations like HIPAA.

Requirements

• Valid license as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations.
• Proven experience in general dentistry or cosmetic dentistry environments
• Proficiency in dental software systems such as Dentrix / Dentrix Ascend for documentation and scheduling.
• Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health.
• Skilled in dental assisting tasks including chairside assisting and medical imaging techniques.
• Knowledge of infection control standards, healthcare safety protocols, and HIPAA compliance to protect patient confidentiality.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively and foster a welcoming atmosphere.
