Duties

• Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review, to ensure safe treatment planning.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment, ensuring high-quality images for diagnosis.
• Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong oral health.
• Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix), documenting treatment details, medical records, and medical coding with precision.
• Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic technique and infection control measures, to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.

Skills

• Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for scheduling, documentation review, and record management.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry procedures.
• Experience with pediatric dentistry and providing care tailored to children’s needs.
• Skilled in chairside assisting with dental equipment operation, X-ray processing, and patient care coordination.
• Ability to assess patient health status through vital signs and medical history review while maintaining HIPAA compliance and confidentiality standards.
• Expertise in healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including aseptic technique and sterilization procedures.
• Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively on dental care practices while ensuring understanding across diverse age groups including pediatrics.
