Registered Dental Hygienist

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. Duties

• Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
• Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and evaluating oral health status.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and patient safety protocols are followed.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health.
• Maintain accurate and detailed electronic health records (EHR) using systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Follow infection prevention protocols by adhering to aseptic techniques, sterilization procedures, and infection control standards.
• Monitor and operate dental equipment efficiently while ensuring all tools are properly maintained and sanitized.
• Collaborate with the dental team to ensure smooth clinic operations, including documentation review and medical coding when necessary.
• Uphold patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines, fostering a trusting environment for all patients.Experience
• Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist within a general or pediatric dentistry setting.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation management.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control procedures.
• Experience performing dental x-rays (radiography) with attention to safety standards for patients and staff.
• Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices is preferred to effectively serve younger patients.
• Ability to perform chairside assisting duties including instrument transfer and patient support during procedures.
• Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including aseptic technique and sterilization processes.
• Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients on oral health maintenance effectively.
• Understanding of medical records management, medical coding, and EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation review.

Pay: $45.00 - $52.00 per hour
