Duties

• Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
• Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical history, and dental examinations to inform treatment plans.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with infection prevention protocols.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term dental health.
• Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
• Manage electronic health records (EHR/EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for accurate documentation of patient care and medical records.
• Maintain strict infection control standards through aseptic techniques, sterilization of dental equipment, and adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.
• Monitor and record medical data, including vital signs and medical imaging results, ensuring comprehensive patient records are up-to-date.
• Support the dental team with chairside assisting during general dentistry procedures, ensuring smooth workflow and optimal patient experience.
• Uphold all healthcare infection prevention measures, including proper sterilization procedures and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Experience

• Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental office or clinic setting.
• Proficiency with EHR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health.
• Experience in pediatric dentistry or working with pediatric patients is a plus.
• Familiarity with dental equipment operation, dental x-ray procedures, and infection control protocols.
• Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about their dental care needs.
• Ability to review documentation thoroughly, ensure HIPAA compliance, and manage medical coding accurately for billing purposes.

Pay: $45.00 - $46.00 per hour
