Register Dental Hygienist

WE ARE LOOKING FOR AN RDH TO HELP OUR LONG STANDING, GROWING, LOCALLY OWNED, AND FAMILY OPERATED PRIVATE GENERAL DENTAL PRACTICE. WE WILL CONSIDER RECENT GRADUATES. WE ARE A FRIENDLY GROUP WHO ALL WORK TOGETHER TO HELP EACH OTHER. IT IS A PART TIME POSITION FOR THURSDAYS AND COULD DEVELOP TO A FULL TIME ROLE IF WANTED. PAY WILL DEPEND ON EXPERIENCE.

Responsibilities:
- Perform dental hygiene procedures, including cleaning teeth, taking X-rays, and applying fluoride treatments, dental sealants
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized recommendations for dental care
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' oral health, including screening for periodontal disease and oral cancer
- Assist the dentist during procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials
- Maintain accurate patient records and update medical histories as needed
- Follow strict infection control protocols to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff
- Collaborate with the dental team to develop treatment plans and provide comprehensive dental care

Skills:
- Proficient in medical terminology related to dentistry
- Experience using Open Dental or similar dental practice management software
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Strong understanding of infection control procedures in a dental office setting
- Familiarity with pediatric dentistry and ability to work with children of all ages
- Experience with computer-assisted design (CAD) software for creating dental restorations is a plus
- Solid anatomical knowledge to accurately assess patients' oral health conditions
- Excellent patient assessment skills, including identifying potential issues or abnormalities
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Epic

Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8.0 – 9.0 per week
