Orthodontic Clinical Assistant

Dr. Blaine J. Langberg Orthodontics- now hiring: entry level CLINICAL ORTHODONTIC ASSISTANT Come join our fun, fast-paced Orthodontic practice in the heart of Ridgefield, CT! We are looking to hire a full time, entry level Records and Sterilization Technician. This is a full time position, four days a week. The records technician position will make records for patients as well as work in our sterilization area!

We are a busy and progressive orthodontic practice in Ridgefield, Connecticut that has grown to the point of needing an additional records technician. We have an excellent team currently in place that needs to grow to meet our growing patient demand. We offer a friendly, caring, and fun work atmosphere.

As an orthodontic assistant, you will work onsite in our beautiful state of the art orthodontic practice while interfacing with our patients and their families and assist in orthodontic procedures. Orthodontic or dental assisting is not required. We will train you!!

This is for a full time position (5 days/week, 35-38 hours/week)

Monday: 9:30 to 7:30pm

Tuesday & Wednesday: 7:30 to 5:30pm

Thursday: 7:00am to 3:30pm

Friday Flexible hours:- 4 hrs

Responsibilities:

• Capturing extra-oral and intra-oral digital photographs for orthodontic records
• Use software to reconstruct panoramic and cephalometric images
• Dental model acquisition- scans and 3D printing
• Prepares teeth for orthodontic appliances
• Orthodontic separator placement
• Aids in the selection and fitting of orthodontic bands
• Charting using electronic health record
• Instructing patients on oral hygiene, use/care of orthodontic appliances, including clear aligners/Invisalign
• Unties braces, puts in wires fits and cements appliances
• Sterilization of orthodontic instruments and chair setups
• Coordinates and sends Invisalign
• Schedules patients
• Capture and process digital x-rays and intraoral photographs
• Take digital impressions
• Ensure all patient records are properly organized and maintained
• Prepare and update patient charts in our digital system
• Collaborate with the orthodontic team to ensure smooth workflow
• Follow HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality
• Sterilize and maintain necessary equipment used for records
• Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment
• Learn all instruments and appointment set up types
• Complete set up and shut down of sterilization center

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Strong computer skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable transportation
• Positive attitude
• Eagerness to learn new tasks

Experience is not needed, we are willing to train the right person. Applicant must be reliable, hard working, and a team player.
