This position is for 29 hours per week in Taylorsville with the option to work another 10+ hours at our 2nd location in West Valley.

Responsibilities

• Assist orthodontists during patient procedures, including bracket placement, wire adjustments, and appliance fittings using four-handed dentistry techniques.
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following infection prevention management and aseptic techniques.
• Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans, ensuring accurate imaging for diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Manage patient records using OrthoTrac software, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, appliance care, and treatment progress to promote optimal outcomes.
• Coordinate with the dental reception team for appointment scheduling, patient management software updates, and insurance processing.

Experience

• Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting with a focus on orthodontics or pediatric dentistry is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in dental assisting procedures including chairside assisting, dental instrument processing, and dental sterilization procedures.
• Familiarity with dental terminology.
• Knowledge of dental equipment such as X-ray machines, intraoral cameras, and 3D scanners is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of infection control protocols specific to healthcare environments to ensure safety for patients and staff.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations, including pediatrics, ensuring compassionate patient care at all times.

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
