Smile Starters is a general dental practice serving children and young adults ages 1–20. We are dedicated to educating our patients on best practices for lifelong oral health. Working with the youngest members of our community allows us to achieve long-term results, which is highly rewarding for our team of Hygienists and Dentists. Many of our former patients now bring their own children to us — a testament to the quality care and relationships we build.

This position allows you to work in a collaborative team setting with like-minded dental professionals in a supportive, bright, and positive environment.

Job Duties / Responsibilities

• Review medical histories with patients or their parent/guardian
• Take dental x-rays as appropriate
• Perform teeth scaling and polishing
• Write chart notes and maintain accurate electronic health records
• Assist dentists with charting during exams
• Obtain parent/guardian consent for sealants and other procedures
• Present treatment plans to parents/guardians and obtain consent for procedures
• Write referrals and facilitate correspondence with dental colleagues as directed
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace
• Support the dental team with other duties as assigned

Requirements

• NC Dental Hygienist License
• CPR Certification
