Position Overview

As an Oral Surgery Assistant, you will play a vital role in all stages of the surgical process — from preparation and patient education to real-time surgical assistance and post-op support. This position requires clinical expertise, attention to detail, and a reassuring presence to guide patients through their surgical experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and prepare patients for surgery with warmth and professionalism
• Assist the oral surgeon during procedures, including:
• Chairside support
• Suction and retraction
• Monitoring vital signs and anesthesia equipment
• Tool exchange and instrument handling
• Deliver clear post-operative care instructions
• Operate digital x-ray equipment as needed
• Sterilize, disinfect, and properly store surgical instruments
• Support administrative or clerical tasks as needed to ensure smooth practice operations

Qualifications

• Prior dental assisting experience (oral surgery preferred)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Calm, focused, and effective in fast-paced or high-stress situations
