Perinton Dental Group in Fairport, NY is looking for an experienced Front Desk Administrative Coordinator to join our team. This is more than a front desk position—we're looking for someone who wants to build a long-term career with a respected, patient-focused dental practice and has an interest in taking on additional responsibility and leadership opportunities over time.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a positive, dependable and experienced dental administrative professional who takes pride in creating a great patient experience.

Recent dental front desk experience is required. Candidates should have worked in a dental office front desk role within the past 3 years.

Our ideal candidate has:

  • 2–3+ years of experience in a general dental front office role
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology and procedures
  • Experience with productive scheduling and appointment management
  • Experience with treatment coordination and financial arrangements
  • Knowledge of dental insurance, billing and collections
  • Experience with hygiene scheduling and patient re-engagement
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organization and time-management abilities
  • A positive, upbeat and self-motivated personality
  • A professional, friendly and team-oriented approach
  • Strong problem-solving and prioritization skills
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment
  • Attention to detail and a willingness to learn
  • A patient-focused, health-centered mindset
  • Open Dental experience is a plus

What You'll Do

As a key member of our front office team, you'll be one of the first people our patients see and interact with. You'll help create a welcoming experience while keeping the administrative side of the practice running smoothly.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Welcoming patients and providing a warm, professional first impression
  • Answering phones and responding to patient questions
  • Managing patient check-in and check-out
  • Scheduling, rescheduling and canceling appointments
  • Coordinating treatment and helping patients understand their care options
  • Explaining procedures, insurance benefits and financial policies
  • Verifying insurance coverage and submitting accurate claims
  • Assisting with patient billing, payments and financial arrangements
  • Managing patient forms and updating demographic information
  • Maintaining accurate electronic dental records, treatment plans, x-rays and financial information
  • Calculating fees and processing cash and credit card payments
  • Working closely with the clinical team to ensure excellent communication and patient flow
  • Supporting the day-to-day administrative needs of the practice
  • Helping us create an exceptional experience for every patient who walks through our doors
