Job Description:

Montclair Pediatric Dentistry is seeking a motivated and skilled individual for a long-term position to join our growing practice as an Experienced Dental Assistant/Registered Dental Assistant. In this role, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our growing pediatric practice while providing exceptional customer service to our patients. This position offers excellent long-term growth opportunities, including the potential to grow into a leadership or management role within the practice.

Responsibilities:

• Work with a highly motivated team and have the potential to train new members.
• Provide high-quality patient care and follow office protocols.
• Assist dental providers during procedures by taking x-rays, coronal polish, prepare treatment rooms and provide chairside assistance as needed.
• Ensure patient comfort during treatments and handle patient-related concerns.
• Coordinate patient schedules to optimize office efficiency.
• Greet and assist patients in a professional and compassionate manner.
• Explain dental procedures, post-operative care, and preventive measures to patients.
• Ensure the highest level of care and accuracy in all dental procedures and services.
• Address any issues that arise and work toward continuous improvement in dental care delivery.
• Greet patients and families with a friendly and professional attitude.
• Manage patient scheduling, appointment confirmations, and follow-up.
• Communications to optimize patient flow and enhance patient satisfaction.
• Handle patient inquiries, registration, insurance verification, and billing processes with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Maintain electronic health records (EHR) and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and privacy standards.
• Communicate effectively with the team members and assist with coordination.
• Maintain a clean, organized and kid-friendly front office.
• Help keep our young patients (and their parents!) smiling.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or certification in dental assisting preferred
• X-ray certification required
• Coronal polishing certification required
• At least 1 year of experience working in pediatric dentistry or with children
• Experience in dental assisting (4-handed dentistry) with the ability to cross train to help in the front office
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skill.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance.
