Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all supplies are ready for procedures.
• Assist dentists during a wide range of treatments including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
• Take high-quality dental x-rays and operate advanced medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners while maintaining safety standards.
• Manage patient records accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems (Eaglesoft), ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies.
• Perform chairside assisting with four-handed and six-handed dentistry techniques to enhance workflow efficiency and patient comfort.
• Collect vital signs and medical histories to support comprehensive patient care and treatment planning.
• Follow strict infection prevention management practices, including dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques, to uphold the highest standards of safety.
• Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and treatment options using clear dental terminology.
• Support the dental reception team by managing patient flow, scheduling appointments via patient management software, and handling administrative tasks efficiently.

Skills

• Extensive experience with dental assisting in general dentistry or specialized fields such as oral surgery, periodontics or prosthodontics.
• Proficiency in digital dental x-ray techniques and operation of medical imaging devices including 3D scanners.
• Strong knowledge of dental instruments, equipment maintenance, and sterilization procedures.
• Familiarity with Eaglesoft is a bonus, for accurate documentation and record keeping.
• Deep understanding of infection control protocols aligned with healthcare standards to prevent cross-contamination.
• Ability to communicate effectively using dental terminology while maintaining professionalism and empathy with patients of all ages, including pediatric dentistry cases.
• Knowledge of medical documentation requirements and medical records management in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Skilled in patient management software to coordinate appointments, manage patient information, and streamline clinic operations.

Pay: $26.00 - $29.50 per hour

Expected hours: 32.0 – 40.0 per week
