Dual-Role Dental Assistant

Job Summary

We are seeking a flexible, energetic, and detail-oriented dual role dental assistant to support our clinical team and clerical team. In this role, you will help maintain smooth daily operations by stepping in wherever needed—whether assisting chairside with four-handed dentistry, turning over operatories, managing sterilization, or helping at the front desk.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentists during a variety of treatment procedures, including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, and endodontics, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency and patient comfort
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment in accordance with infection prevention management and aseptic techniques
• Manage patient flow by greeting patients, updating medical histories, taking vital signs, and ensuring accurate medical documentation within the patient record.
• Maintain clinical cleanliness by following infection control standards, sterilizing instruments, and processing dental equipment according to sterilization procedures
• Support front desk operations as a dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, managing patient inquiries, and coordinating with medical documentation systems

Skills

• Proficiency in basic computer and phone systems.
• Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and clinical procedures across general dentistry disciplines including pediatrics and oral surgery
• Experience in dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, infection prevention management, and aseptic technique adherence
• Ability to perform chairside assisting with competence in four-handed dentistry practices for enhanced workflow efficiency
• Familiarity with healthcare infection prevention and control policies to ensure patient safety at all times
• Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively while demonstrating professionalism in handling sensitive information under HIPAA regulations
• Knowledge of dental equipment operation including prosthodontics tools and endodontic instruments for comprehensive support during treatments
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities seamlessly—balancing clinical duties with administrative tasks—while maintaining a positive attitude

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16.0 – 32.0 per week
