Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and organized Front Desk Dentist Assistant to join our vibrant dental practice. In this role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a welcoming environment while managing essential administrative tasks. Duties

• Greet patients warmly, verify appointments, and assist with patient check-in and check-out procedures
• Manage patient scheduling using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth
• Handle medical billing and collections efficiently, ensuring accurate coding with CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding standards
• Maintain and update patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies
• Facilitate communication between patients and dental providers via phone, email, or in-person interactions using proper phone etiquette
• Assist with documentation review, insurance verification, and health information management to support clinical workflows
• Support administrative tasks including filing, data entry with 10 key typing skills, and managing electronic health records (EHR) systems

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a medical office environment, preferably within a dental clinic setting
• Strong knowledge of medical billing, coding (CPT, ICD), and health insurance processes including Medicare and Medicaid
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks or Athenahealth is highly desirable
• Excellent customer service skills with bilingual abilities preferred to serve diverse patient populations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and communication purposes
• Demonstrated understanding of clinical confidentiality policies and medical terminology
• Previous experience with medical scheduling, phone communication, and front desk operations required
• Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
