Job Summary

We are a private and female owned general dental practice seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team! We are currently looking to fulfill 3 to 4 days per week!

In this vital role, you will deliver exceptional patient care by providing thorough dental cleanings, patient education, and preventive treatments. Duties

• Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, ensuring thorough removal of plaque and tartar.
• Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and reviewing medical records to tailor treatment plans effectively.
• Take dental x-rays, ensuring proper technique and adherence to safety protocols.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using Open Dental, documenting all treatments and patient interactions clearly.
• Follow strict infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment, to ensure patient safety and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Support the dental team by managing dental terminology explanations, and assisting with general dentistry procedures as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice.
• Proven experience in dental office settings, preferably with exposure to pediatric dentistry and general dentistry environments.
• Proficiency in Open Dental is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy
• Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively on dental care practices.
• Expertise in infection control management, including sterilization procedures and healthcare infection prevention standards.
• Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures safely while maintaining HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
• Knowledge of pediatric dentistry techniques is advantageous but not mandatory; a passion for working with children is highly valued.

Pay: $55.00 - $60.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24.0 – 32.0 per week
