Dental Hygienist

In this role, you will provide comprehensive dental hygiene services, educate patients on maintaining optimal oral health, and support the overall efficiency of our clinic. Duties

• Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
• Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while ensuring radiation safety protocols.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term dental health.
• Assist with chairside procedures, including preparing instruments, maintaining aseptic technique, and supporting dentists during treatments.
• Ensure accurate documentation of patient care and medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Maintain infection prevention standards by sterilizing equipment, managing infection control protocols, and ensuring a safe clinical environment.
• Assist in other areas of the nonprofit 501 c 3 organization

Skills

• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and general dentistry procedures
• Skilled dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort during procedures.
• Ability to perform dental x-rays accurately while adhering to radiation safety standards.
• Excellent patient communication skills to educate patients effectively about dental care and foster trust.
• Healthcare infection prevention and control expertise, including aseptic technique and adherence to HIPAA compliance management.
• Bilingual is highly recommended

Pay: $28.00 - $34.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week

License/Certification:

• licensed dental hygienist (Preferred)
