Duties

• Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring high-quality imaging for accurate diagnosis.
• Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental concerns.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions.
• Assist during dental procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Follow infection prevention protocols through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization of dental equipment.

Qualifications

• Valid license or certification as a Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations.
• Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings, with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred.
• Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with EMR/EHR systems is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health.
• Skilled in chairside assisting, including handling dental equipment and medical imaging devices.
• Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control standards, including HIPAA compliance management.
• Excellent communication skills for client education and team collaboration; ability to maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

Pay: $45.11 - $54.32 per hour

Expected hours: 21.0 – 24.0 per week
