As a key member of our dental practice, you will provide comprehensive preventive dental services, educate patients on oral health, and support the overall efficiency of the clinic while being apart of an office that also likes to have fun, and the occasional breakfast bagel!

Duties

• Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing procedures to promote optimal oral health.
• Conduct patient assessments including vital signs, medical history review, and dental examinations.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) ensuring proper technique and patient safety.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options.
• Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort.
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and documentation within electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
• Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and infection control measures aligned with healthcare standards.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
• Operate dental equipment safely and effectively while adhering to OSHA guidelines for infection prevention and control.
• Support the dental team in general dentistry procedures, including assisting with medical imaging and medical coding when necessary.

Requirements

• Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations.
• Proven experience in dental hygiene within a clinical setting, preferably in general or pediatric dentistry.
• Proficiency with dental software such as Denticon or Dentrix for documentation and patient management.
• Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and practices is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and dental terminology relevant to patient care.
• Experience with dental x-ray techniques, medical imaging, and maintaining radiation safety standards.
• Familiarity with healthcare infection prevention protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients of all ages about oral health.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment utilizing four-handed dentistry methods.
• Commitment to HIPAA compliance, patient confidentiality, and maintaining high standards of infection control

Pay: From $44.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 30.0 per week
