Job Title: Part-Time Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH)
Location: Southern Virginia Beach, VA
Position Type: Part-Time (16 hours per week)
Schedule: Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Preventative Care: Perform thorough dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing to remove plaque, calculus, and stains from teeth.
• Patient Screenings: Conduct preliminary oral examinations, take accurate medical and dental histories, and perform oral cancer screenings.
• Radiographs: Take, develop, and interpret high-quality digital X-rays.
• Treatments: Apply preventative agents, including fluoride treatments and dental sealants.
• Patient Education: Instruct patients of all ages on proper brushing and flossing techniques, post-operative care, and dietary choices that impact oral health.
• Clinical Documentation: Maintain meticulous, up-to-date, and accurate patient charts and treatment notes using our Dentrix practice management software.
• Sterilization & Safety: Disinfect treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and strictly adhere to OSHA, HIPAA, and CDC infection control protocols.
• Team Collaboration: Work seamlessly alongside the dentist and dental assistants to ensure a smooth daily workflow and an exceptional patient experience.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program.
• Licensure: Current, active Virginia Dental Hygienist License in good standing.
• Certifications: Valid CPR / BLS certification. Local anesthesia certification is a plus.
• Experience: 1+ years of professional experience preferred, but motivated recent graduates are welcome to apply.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with digital X-ray systems and direct, hands-on experience using Dentrix software.
• Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional communication skills, a gentle clinical touch, and the ability to put anxious patients at ease.
