Dental Hygienist

Schedule:

Mondays: 8 am- 5 pm

Fridays: 8 am - 1 pm

Duties

• Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment, ensuring accuracy and patient safety
• Assess patient vital signs and medical history to identify any health concerns or contraindications for treatment
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health
• Assist with chairside procedures, including four-handed dentistry techniques that enhance efficiency and patient comfort
• Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using Open Dental ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Adhere to infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and infection control standards, to ensure a safe environment for all patients

Requirements

• Valid Dental Hygienist license in the state of California with current certification
• Proven experience in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings preferred
• Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and medical records management
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care
• Ability to perform dental x-rays accurately while maintaining patient comfort and safety standards
• Excellent client communication skills with a focus on patient care and education
• Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including HIPAA compliance management
• Familiarity with medical coding, EMR/EHR systems, and documentation procedures for accurate recordkeeping

Pay: $62.00 - $68.00 per hour
