Dental Hygienist

Responsibilities:
- Perform dental hygiene procedures, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth
- Conduct patient assessments and screenings to identify oral health conditions
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized oral care instructions
- Take and develop dental x-rays as needed
- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide sedation when necessary
- Assist the dentist during procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation
- Follow strict infection control protocols and maintain aseptic technique throughout all procedures

Skills:
- Proficient in dental office management systems such as Dentrix
- Strong knowledge of dental anatomy, terminology, and procedures
- Excellent patient assessment skills to identify oral health conditions and develop appropriate treatment plans
- Familiarity with medical records management and documentation practices
- Thorough understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
