Dental Hygienist Six Week Temporary Fill-In

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Hygienist to join our team as a six week temporary fill-In. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide exceptional dental hygiene care in a dynamic clinical environment. As a vital member of our dental team, you will deliver comprehensive patient care, promote oral health education, and support the smooth operation of our practice during this temporary assignment. Your expertise will help ensure our patients receive top-quality service while maintaining the highest standards of infection control and confidentiality.

The hours are Monday through Thursday 8AM - 5PM.

Responsibilities

• Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to maintain optimal oral health for patients.
• Assist with patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review, ensuring accurate documentation in electronic health records (EHR).
• Educate patients on proper dental care practices, emphasizing preventive strategies and oral hygiene instructions.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and patient safety protocols are followed.
• Support the dental team with chairside assisting during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency.
• Maintain strict infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment in compliance with healthcare infection control standards.
• Manage medical records, review documentation for accuracy, and ensure HIPAA compliance to protect patient confidentiality.

Requirements

• Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice in a clinical setting.
• Proficiency in Dentrix for charting, documentation, and scheduling is a plus.
• Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding to accurately document procedures.
• Familiarity with general dentistry practices, including dental x-ray techniques, infection control procedures, and use of dental equipment.
• Excellent client communication skills to educate patients effectively and foster a positive experience.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
