Dental Hygienist

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, performing dental cleanings, and assisting in various dental procedures. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control, and patient assessment, as well as proficiency in using dental software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix. The Dental Hygienist will play a crucial role in promoting oral health and ensuring a positive experience for our patients.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough dental cleanings and assessments for patients of all ages, including pediatric dentistry.
• Perform vital signs checks and document findings accurately in medical records.
• Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
• Utilize medical imaging tools to capture necessary diagnostic images.
• Maintain aseptic techniques and adhere to infection control protocols to ensure patient safety.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental visits.
• Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Collaborate with the dental team to provide exceptional patient care and support.
• Stay updated on advancements in dentistry, including medical coding and EMR systems.

Qualifications

• Valid Dental Hygienist license in the state of practice.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices.
• Previous experience in a dental office or clinic setting is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide compassionate patient care.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
• Understanding of pediatric dentistry principles is beneficial but not required.
