Job Summary

Duties

• Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) accurately using dental imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Conduct vital signs assessments such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to monitor patient health status.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health.
• Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency and patient comfort.
• Maintain detailed and accurate medical records and documentation within Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance.
• Follow strict infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment to uphold healthcare infection control standards.

Qualifications

• Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice in a clinical setting.
• Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments with proficiency in dental assisting and chairside assisting techniques.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding for accurate documentation.
• Familiarity with EHR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for efficient electronic health records management.
• Expertise in infection prevention management, including sterilization procedures and healthcare infection control practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations, including pediatrics, demonstrating client communication skills.
• Knowledge of dental equipment operation, dental x-ray procedures, and maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Pay: $52.48 - $63.20 per hour

Expected hours: 16.0 – 40.0 per week
