Dental Hygienist (Military Spouses welcome)

Part-time or Full-time Registered Dental Hygienist to care for our awesome patient base. Flexible hours. We are a solo-practitioner general practice with a comprehensive continuing care focus. We are a Dentrix/Dexis digital office for radiographs as well as records. NO SATURDAYS/SUNDAYS!

Responsibilities

• Conduct oral screenings and check oral health history
• Prophylaxes, periodontal charting, fluoride application
• Digital X-rays
• Identify conditions such as gingivitis, caries or periodontal disease
• Educate patients on proper oral health care
• Scaling & root planing
• Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination
• Sterilize dental instruments properly
• Maintain documentation and digital charts on each patient
• Monitor supplies

Skills

• Periodontal knowledge (scaling & root planing included)
• Outstanding communication skills
• A patient and friendly personality
• Attention to detail (this is a MUST!)
• Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job
• In-depth knowledge of health & safety regulations in this profession (e.g. HIPAA, OSHA)
• Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment
• Associate's degree in Dental Hygiene minimum (Bachelor's preferred)
• Valid license to practice in Hawaii
