Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dental hygiene, patient care, and clinical procedures, with a focus on promoting optimal oral health. Duties

• Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
• Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies tailored to their needs.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while ensuring adherence to safety protocols and infection control standards.
• Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency.
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
• Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining patient confidentiality and safeguarding sensitive information.
• Manage infection prevention protocols, including sterilization of dental equipment and aseptic techniques.
• Monitor and record vital signs, medical imaging results, and other clinical data for comprehensive patient assessment.
• Support the dental team with chairside assisting, including preparation of materials, equipment setup, and documentation review.

Experience

• Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist in a general dentistry or pediatric dentistry setting is preferred.
• Familiarity with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing electronic health records (EHR).
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical coding, and infection control practices.
• Experience performing dental x-rays (radiographs) and utilizing dental equipment efficiently.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about dental care and treatment plans.
• Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention standards, aseptic techniques, and HIPAA compliance management is essential.
• Prior experience working in a fast-paced dental office environment that emphasizes client communication and documentation accuracy is highly valued.

Pay: From $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16.0 – 32.0 per week
