Dental Hygienist

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our dental team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing preventive dental care, educating patients on oral health, and assisting in creating a comfortable environment for patients. This role requires a professional who is passionate about promoting oral health and delivering exceptional patient care. The position involves working primarily on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, with additional hours on a couple of Wednesdays in December from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm.

Responsibilities

• Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning teeth and removing plaque and tartar buildup.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
• Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Maintain accurate patient records and document treatments provided.
• Sterilize dental instruments and ensure the cleanliness of the treatment area.
• Manage appointment scheduling and follow-up with patients as necessary.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.

Skills

• Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively educate and interact with patients.
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity for precise dental procedures.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of dental software systems for record keeping and scheduling.
• Flexibility to work scheduled days, including Tuesdays, Thursdays, and occasional Wednesdays in December.

Pay: $42.54 - $51.23 per hour
