Part-time Hygienist 2- 3 days per week

About Us:

Historic Hyde Park Dentistry is hiring a part-time RDH 2-3 days/week with the possible option of transitioning to a full-time position. We are a fee-for-service private practice located in South Tampa that emphasizes patient relationships and education while allowing for a positive work-life balance. Our office is all-digital and utilizes digital scanners, x-rays, intra-oral cameras and perio charting with the Florida Probe.

Key Responsibilities:

· Hygiene Appointments: Perform thorough yet gentle cleanings, perio maintenance and scaling and root planing while ensuring the patient is comfortable. Take necessary x-rays and complete perio charting using Florida Probe.

· Infection Control/Sterilization: Maintain a pristine work environment by cleaning, sterilizing, and organizing hygiene instruments and equipment. Ensure all instruments and equipment are properly prepared for each procedure.

· Operatory Preparation: Prepare the dental operatory for each patient, ensuring that all necessary materials and instruments are in place. Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

· Patient Care: Provide compassionate and attentive care to patients before, during, and after procedures. Educate patients on dental condition and explain treatment plans and procedures prior to treatment. Provide patients with post-operative instructions and oral hygiene instructions.

· Radiography: Take dental x-rays as prescribed by the dentist. Ensure proper safety protocols are followed.

· Office Support: Understand the schedule and flow of the office, taking the initiative to keep things running smoothly. Assist with various administrative tasks as needed, including updating patient records and maintaining hygiene supply inventory.

Qualifications:

· Active RDH License in the State of Florida

Skills:

· Strong communication skills in English

· Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

· Proficiency in digital charting and dental software

· Excels in educating patients on oral hygiene, preventative care and treatment of periodontal disease

· Digital X-rays, IO photos and iTero scans

· Able to collaborate with the team to ensure top-tier patient care

· Maintain a clean and organized work environment

· Able to work independently
