Dental Hygienist

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our professional dental team. Responsibilities

• Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while ensuring radiation safety protocols are followed.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive dental care strategies.
• Assist with chairside procedures, including preparing instruments and maintaining sterile environments using aseptic techniques.
• Manage electronic health records (EHR) accurately, documenting treatment plans, medical records, and patient interactions.
• Collaborate with dentists and other team members to ensure comprehensive patient care and treatment continuity.
• Maintain infection prevention standards by adhering to healthcare infection control protocols and HIPAA compliance regulations.
• Operate dental equipment efficiently, including ultrasonic scalers, dental x-ray machines, and other diagnostic tools.
• Support pediatric dentistry procedures when working with younger patients in a compassionate manner.

Requirements

• Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental hygiene procedures.
• Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings, with familiarity in pediatric dental care preferred.
• Proficiency in using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care.
• Experience with infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control standards.
• Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures accurately while ensuring patient safety.
• Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively on oral health practices.
• Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems for documentation review and medical records management.
• Familiarity with medical coding related to dental procedures is advantageous.
• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
