Duties

• Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
• Take dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Conduct initial patient assessments by measuring vital signs, reviewing medical history, and evaluating oral health status.
• Educate patients on proper dental care techniques, including brushing, flossing, and dietary advice tailored to individual needs.
• Assist dentists during procedures through chairside assisting, managing dental instruments, and maintaining a sterile environment with infection prevention protocols.
• Review and document medical records, treatment plans, and patient interactions accurately within Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining strict confidentiality of patient information and practicing infection control standards aligned with healthcare guidelines.

Qualifications

• Valid Florida state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental hygiene procedures.
• Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings, with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred.
• Proficiency in using dental software, Eaglesoft is preferred
• Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health care.
• Strong understanding of infection prevention management, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection control practices.
• Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety standards.
• Excellent communication skills for client education and team collaboration; experience working with EMR/EHR systems is highly desirable.

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8.0 – 20.0 per week
