Join our office family as a Dental Hygienist and help us continue to build lifelong relationships with our patients. Our hygiene appointments are always one hour long, allowing our hygienists to give each patient the time and attention they require while providing comprehensive dental hygiene services and educating patients on maintaining optimal oral health. Your expertise will help foster a welcoming environment where patients feel confident and cared for at every visit.

Located in Midtown Manhattan and overlooking Central Park, our practice has easy access to transportation and is equipped with state-of-the-art dental technology.

We are currently looking for a hygienist to work on Tuesdays and every other Wednesday, with opportunities to increase the number of days in the near future.

Duties

• Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and air-polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
• Take dental radiographs (X-rays) ensuring proper technique and patient safety.
• Conduct patient assessments by recording vital signs, medical history, and current dental concerns.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions.
• Manage electronic health records (EHR) in Ascend.
• Ensure infection prevention protocols are strictly followed, including aseptic techniques and infection control measures.
• Maintain dental equipment, sterilize instruments, and prepare treatment areas for procedures.
• Review medical records and documentation to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards.

Requirements

• Valid Dental Hygienist license in accordance with New York state regulations.
• Previous Dental Hygiene experience preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
• Proficiency with EHR systems such as Ascend or Dentrix is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and dental equipment operation.
• Skilled in patient care, patient assessment, and client communication to foster trust and comfort.
• Expertise in infection prevention management, healthcare infection control practices, and aseptic technique.
• Ability to perform dental x-rays accurately while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Knowledge of HIPAA compliance management and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and medical coding processes.

Pay: From $60.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 – 18.0 per week
