Dental Hygienist

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care and a strong understanding of dental practices. This role involves working closely with patients to provide high-quality dental hygiene services, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction throughout their visit. The Dental Hygienist will be responsible for performing assessments, cleaning teeth, and educating patients on oral health.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including reviewing medical histories and vital signs
• Perform dental cleanings and treatments using appropriate techniques and tools
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental visits
• Assist in the documentation of patient records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Utilize EMR systems for accurate record-keeping and documentation review
• Collaborate with the dental team to provide exceptional patient care in a four-handed dentistry environment
• Maintain infection control protocols and adhere to aseptic techniques
• Stay updated on dental terminology, medical terminology, and coding practices relevant to the field
• Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures as needed

Requirements

• Proven experience in a dental clinic or office setting is preferred
• Familiarity with Open Dental software is a plus
• Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices is advantageous
• Strong understanding of anatomy knowledge related to dental health
• Ability to perform medical imaging as required by procedures
• Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients on their oral health
• Strong attention to detail in patient care and assessment processes
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of medical records and patient information
