Responsibilities

• Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque, tartar, and stains effectively.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term dental health.
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Dentrix.
• Follow infection prevention management protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures, to ensure patient safety.

Requirements

• Valid Dental Hygienist license in accordance with state regulations.
• Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred.
• Proficiency in dental terminology, dental equipment operation, and medical terminology.
• Strong knowledge of infection prevention practices, HIPAA compliance, and maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Experience with EHR/EHR systems such as Dentrix for documentation review and medical records management.
• Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures accurately while adhering to radiation safety standards.
• Excellent client communication skills with a compassionate approach to patient care and education.
