Dental Hygienist

We are a doctor-owned family practice that focuses on patient care and communication. Hygiene appointments are scheduled for a full hour with no double bookings. It is important to us that our patients and hygienists have ample time for discussion and treatment.

Responsibilities:
- Perform dental hygiene procedures, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Conduct oral cancer screenings
- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide to patients as needed
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide oral health instructions
- Assist the dentist during procedures by handing them instruments and materials
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
- Follow all infection control protocols and maintain a clean and sterile work environment

Skills:
- Proficient in taking vital signs and recording patient information accurately
- Knowledge of medical coding for dental procedures
- Ability to assess patients' oral health conditions and identify any abnormalities or issues
- Familiarity with medical imaging techniques used in dentistry
- Experience with maintaining and updating medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry
- Proficiency in using dental software systems such as Epic or Eaglesoft for patient management and charting
- Solid knowledge of dental anatomy and the structure of the oral cavity
