Duties

• Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote oral health.
• Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster long-term dental health.
• Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency and comfort.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR/EMR) by documenting treatment details, medical terminology, and patient interactions in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Manage infection prevention protocols by sterilizing dental equipment, practicing aseptic techniques, and ensuring a sterile environment at all times.
• Review documentation for accuracy, update medical records regularly, and ensure compliance with healthcare infection control standards.
• Support general dentistry procedures by preparing treatment rooms, handling dental equipment, and assisting with patient care from start to finish.
• Uphold patient confidentiality at all times in accordance with HIPAA guidelines while providing compassionate care tailored to pediatric dentistry when applicable.

Experience

• Proficiency with electronic health record systems such as Dentrix is preferred
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy related to oral health.
• Experience with pediatric dentistry is a plus
• Familiarity with dental x-ray procedures, medical imaging techniques, and maintaining patient safety during radiographic procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, providing clear instructions on dental care and hygiene practices.
• Knowledge of infection prevention management, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection control standards essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment.

Pay: $56.67 - $68.25 per hour
