Dental Hygienist

We’re looking for a wonderful human who happens to be an excellent dental hygienist.

At Breathe Deep Dental, we believe dentistry is about much more than teeth. It’s about relationships, trust, education, prevention, and helping people understand the connection between their oral health and overall well-being. We schedule appointment times based on what the patient clinically needs (typically 60, 90, and 120 min blocks).

We’re looking for someone who values quality over rushing, loves the science behind what they do, and genuinely enjoys being part of a team. You'd be helping create a workplace where we support each other, take pride in our work, and actually like the people we spend our days with.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Provide thorough, evidence-based, preventive, and periodontal care tailored to each patient
• Build trusting relationships and create a comfortable experience for patients with varying needs and levels of dental anxiety
• Educate patients about their oral health, periodontal conditions, risk factors, and preventive options
• Use clinical findings and appropriate diagnostic information to guide individualized care
• Collaborate with the doctor and clinical team to identify concerns and coordinate comprehensive treatment
• Communicate clinical findings and recommendations clearly, compassionately, and confidently
• Maintain accurate, detailed clinical documentation
• Stay current with evolving research, techniques, and best practices
• Help patients understand the why behind recommendations so they can make informed decisions about their health
• Contribute ideas, support teammates, and take ownership of the patient experience

WE'D LOVE SOMEONE WHO IS

Genuinely caring. You see the person behind the plaque. Every patient brings a different story, history, and set of needs, and you meet each one where they are, without judgment.

Clinically curious. You want to understand the underlying causes of disease, not just treat the symptoms. You're open to new evidence and perspectives (e.g. biofilm management, Kois protocol, oral probiotics, StellaLife), and you know dentistry is always evolving.

Thorough. You take pride in your clinical work and believe prevention deserves time, attention, and intention.

A great communicator. You can explain complex concepts in a way that makes sense without creating fear, shame, or pressure.

A team player who owns it. You value your teammates' perspectives, communicate openly, and look for solutions when challenges come up. Good patient care is a team effort.

A little fun. We take our clinical responsibilities seriously, but we don't believe every workday needs to be 100% serious.

WHAT MATTERS TO US

Here's what our values look like on a day-to-day basis:

Team Player. We show up for each other, helping when we're needed and asking for help when we need it.

Ownership Mindset. See a better way? Build it. We empower people to create systems and bring new ideas to patient care.

Professional Excellence. Scientifically up-to-date, whole-person care, held to a high standard because that's who we are, not because someone's watching.

Invitation. We invite the hard conversation instead of waiting for it. When it comes, we get curious, not defensive.

Customer Service. Most people walk in braced for something unpleasant. We go further so they don't have to be.

We're building a practice where people can do their best work without sacrificing being human. We each strive to build a place where people enjoy being here. Our office is new, bright, and filled with natural daylight, creating a space that feels as good to work in as it does to care for patients.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

• Current Oregon Registered Dental Hygienist license
• Current CPR/BLS
• Experience with periodontal therapy and individualized preventive care
• Experience with Oryx or other dental practice software is a plus

Experienced hygienists are welcome, and we appreciate clinicians at different stages of their professional journeys who bring a growth mindset and a commitment to high standards.
