Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
• Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current oral health status
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) ensuring high-quality imaging for accurate diagnosis
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and treatment options
• Assist the dentist during procedures with chairside support, including handling dental equipment and materials
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using electronic health records (EHR) system -OpenDental and iTero
• Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental instruments
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining patient confidentiality at all times
• Monitor and manage dental equipment to ensure optimal functionality and safety standards

Qualifications

• Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current credentials
• Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments
• Proficiency with dental software system OpenDental
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care
• Skilled in chairside assisting, including handling dental instruments and materials efficiently
• Familiarity with dental x-ray procedures, medical imaging techniques, and radiation safety protocols
• Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control standards, including HIPAA compliance
• Excellent communication skills for client education and team collaboration
• Ability to perform patient assessments accurately while demonstrating empathy and professionalism
• Experience working with electronic health records (EHR) systems and managing medical records effectively

Pay: From $60.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 24.0 per week
