Our friendly, patient-focused dental practice in Hartsdale, NY is looking to fill two Dental Assistant positions.

1. Dental Assistant Trainee - No Experience Required

2. Experienced Dental Assistant - Minimum 1 Year of Experience

We are looking for people who are personable, dependable, professional, eager to learn and genuinely enjoy working with patients and as part of a team.

Schedule :

• Monday: 9:30 AM – 7:30 PM
• Wednesday: 9:30 AM – 7:30 PM
• Saturday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Approximately 27 hours per week.

Applicants must be able to reliably work all three scheduled days.

POSITION 1: DENTAL ASSISTANT TRAINEE

No Experience Required - We Will Train the Right Person

Interested in dentistry or healthcare but don't have dental experience yet? This is an opportunity to learn dental assisting through hands-on training in a real clinical environment.

We are willing to train someone who has the right attitude, personality and work ethic. No previous dental experience needed but you must be personable, dependable, motivated, receptive to feedback and genuinely interested in learning.

This position may be especially well suited for a college student, pre-dental or pre-med student, recent graduate or someone interested in entering the healthcare field.

What You'll Learn

Training will include:

• Preparing treatment rooms for patients and procedures
• Setting up instruments, materials, and supplies
• Chairside assisting
• Dental terminology and common dental procedures
• Instrument sterilization and infection-control procedures
• Maintaining clean and organized treatment rooms
• Patient preparation and patient flow
• Professional patient communication
• Supporting the dentist and clinical team throughout the day
• Additional clinical responsibilities as your skills develop

Because we are investing significant time and resources in training, applicants for the trainee position must be willing to make a 12 month commitment to the practice.

Trainee Compensation

Starting compensation is at the applicable minimum wage.

The employee will be eligible for a compensation review and potential increase based on demonstrated skills, progress, performance, attendance and reliability after 90 days of training.

POSITION 2: EXPERIENCED DENTAL ASSISTANT

Minimum 1 Year of Dental Assisting Experience Required

We are also seeking an experienced Dental Assistant who can confidently support our dentist, hygienist and patients in a busy general dental practice.

The ideal candidate understands dental terminology, is comfortable with dental technology and practice management software, can take quality digital X-rays and has experience assisting with a broad range of general and restorative procedures.

Responsibilities include:

• Preparing treatment rooms, instruments, materials and equipment
• Providing efficient chairside assistance
• Anticipating the dentist's needs throughout treatment
• Taking high quality digital dental X-rays
• Maintaining accurate clinical information and documentation
• Working with dental practicemanagement/CRM software and electronic patient records
• Processing, packaging and sterilizing instruments
• Following appropriate infection control and sterilization protocols
• Maintaining clean, organized and properly stocked treatment rooms
• Managing patient flow and helping the clinical schedule run efficiently
• Communicating professionally and compassionately with patients
• Providing post treatment instructions as directed by the dentist
• Maintaining patient confidentiality and following HIPAA requirements
• Working collaboratively with the entire dental team

Candidates should be comfortable assisting with a variety of dental procedures, including:

• Composite restorations
• Root canal/endodontic procedures
• Crown and Bridge preparations and deliveries
• Dentures and removable prosthetics
• Routine general dentistry

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of hands-on dental assisting experience
• Strong understanding of dental terminology
• Ability to take digital dental X-rays
• Experience with dental practice management/CRM software
• Knowledge of dental instruments and materials
• Knowledge of sterilization and infection control procedures
• Experience assisting with restorative and general dental procedures
• Excellent patient communication skills
• Professional, personable and team-oriented
• Dependable, punctual, organized and detail oriented
• Able to work efficiently in a busy clinical environment
• Available to work the full Monday, Wednesday and Saturday schedule
